Snowboarding in Chamonix

Chamonix is a paradise for snowboarders and is attracting more and more ‘riders’ each season. The unlimited, endless deep untouched powder satisfies even the most experienced snowboarder. If you fancy free-riding steep descents or floating off big rocks or just cruising down a smooth graded piste, Chamonix is the place to spend your holiday!

For the ‘park riders’ there is a fun park on the Grands-Montets and new for the 2009/10 the Snowpark DC in Les Houches that both hold numerous competitions, so if you're open to challenges, this is the perfect place. Check out the Area 43 link to see the huge gaps jumps and tabletops!

On Le Tour and Le Brevent you'll find terrain perfect for free-riding and encompassing a kilometre-long natural half pipe. For serious boarders, Chamonix is a free-riding haven, the possibilities are endless. You can hike from lift access for under 30minutes to find untouched terrain – remember to always check for avalanche danger and always wear your avalanche beacon and take a shovel and probe!
